This is the last part of our Norwegian care allowance cycle. In previous editions, we informed you when you can receive such a benefit - in what situations you should be granted and what you need to do to receive such financial support.  When will I receive my payment?

Here it is worth referring to the specific regulations available on the Nav.no website:

“Family allowance is granted from the first month after the birth of the child or from the first month after meeting the conditions for receiving family allowance. If the child was born in Norway after the parent has registered with the Population Registry Office, child benefit is usually granted automatically. Find out more about family allowance.

Carer's allowance is granted for the care of a child aged 1 to 2 years. In the case of adopted children who have not yet started school, the carer's allowance is granted for a period of 11 months after the end of the full parental benefit payment period. In order to receive the care allowance, an application must be submitted. Find out more about care allowance. "

Therefore, fill out the application and wait for the first benefit.

Are you receiving care allowance? You must inform about all changes!

Remember - when using this benefit, you must inform the competent authority about any, even the slightest change in your family and professional status, which may affect the solvency of the Norwegian care allowance:

Obligation to submit changes

“Changes in family and/or professional situation, or planned stay abroad may affect the amount paid from NAV. Therefore, any such changes must be reported to NAV immediately. You should also report if your or your child's residence permit expires or if your child receives a place in kindergarten (if you receive child care allowance).”
