In the last text we wrote about who and when can apply for care allowance in Norway. What requirements must necessarily be met. The last changes, which entered into force on July 1, can be troublesome and cause trouble for many people. Today we will focus on the application itself and its correct writing. Details below.

Attachments to the application
To the application for Family allowance or caring must be attached
- Certificate from your home country confirming that you are the parent of the child for whom you are claiming benefits (birth certificate) - unless the child is registered with the Norwegian Population Register. The certificate must be completed by the Population Register or other competent authorities in the home country.
- Documents confirming the registration numbers assigned to you, the child and the other parent in the home country.
- Confirmation documents employment in Norway (copy of employment contract).
- To receive care allowance, you must additionally attach a certificate from another EEA country confirming that you have been a member of the social security system there for at least 5 years. If you have been a member of the Norwegian insurance system for 5 years, you do not need to provide a certificate. Membership in the Norwegian and foreign social security systems can be combined to obtain a minimum insurance period of 5 years. Please note that only EEA nationals can combine the insurance period from other EEA countries with the Norwegian insurance period. If your social security period is from another Scandinavian country, nationality does not matter.
Self-employed persons must send us the following documents:
- Copies of order confirmations and invoices for the period before the VAT obligation arises and a list of printouts from the tax books after the VAT obligation arises.
- Extract from the Central Register of Companies (Brønnøysundregisteret) confirming the registration of your company. "
