The Ordo Iuris Institute invites all Poles living in Norway to a meeting entitled: . Jerzy Kwaśniewski, President of the Institute, will give a lecture during the event. It will concern the activities of Ordo Iuris in the matter of granting asylum to Silje Garmo and her daughter and the collection of children by Barnevernet.

The story of Silje Garmo

Silje Garmo left Norway for Poland to protect herself and her daughter from the Children's Welfare Office (Child welfare). She was in danger of taking the child away on groundless allegations. In January, the Polish Office for Foreigners stated that the family life protected by international law is in this case at risk and that Silje Garmo and her daughter should be granted asylum protection. A few months later, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a different opinion. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs refused to grant the Norwegian asylum, but in December this decision was revoked. The Ministry agreed to grant asylum protection to Silje and Eira Garmo.

Barnevernet activity

Activity Child welfare raises numerous controversies in Norway and other countries. Many children are isolated from their parents for good reason. Poles living in Norway also face such problems. Ordo Iuris he also gets involved in their affairs by providing them with assistance legal aid.
