Almost 60 hunters in Norway hunt elk every year, according to a government report. The new report shows that hunting is a lot of money for the Norwegian state.
On behalf of Statskog, Menon Economics researched the socio-economic importance of elk hunting in Norway. The report confirms that elk hunting is a great asset related to, among others, with tourism and equipment. In addition, the elk meat comes from 30 hunted elk per year.

Hunting has a recreational value as well as an emotional community value. This is related to the natural experiences for elk hunters, often even greater than the value of their meat, it also has an impact on health, which means the most.

- Hunting is about healthy hunting meat, but also much more, recreation and public health. Taking profits by nature has always been important, and the numbers show it's at least as important today, says Bollestad.
