The second semi-finals of this year's Eurovision are behind us. Viewers received the final answer to who will perform in Saturday's final. Unfortunately, it will take place without the participation of Poland, which was represented by the Polish producer Gromee together with the Swedish singer Lukas Meijer. According to experts, the second semi-final of Eurovision was at a lower level than the first, which took place on Tuesday.

Who was promoted?

The following countries advanced to Saturday's final of the Eurovision Song Contest: Serbia, Moldova, Hungary, Ukraine, Ukraine, Sweden, Australia, Norway, Denmark, Slovenia and the Netherlands. The most interesting performances of the second semi-final include the song of the Vikings from Denmark, represented by Rasmussen with the song Higher Ground, and Norway, represented by the winner of the 54th Eurovision Song Contest, Aleksander Rybak, with the song That's How You Write a Song. An interesting performance was attended by Waylon from the Netherlands. He performed the song Outlaw in 'Em. It is worth mentioning that this is his return to Eurovision. In 2014, he was part of the band The Common Linnets, which then came second, just behind Austrian drag queen Conchita Wurst.

The 2018 Eurovision Final without Poland. How did the Poles fare?

The Polish team did not make it to the Saturday final. Gromee and Lukas Meijer appeared with the radio hit Light me up. However, in the opinion of many internet users, the failure was due to the unclean performance of this hit, despite the interesting composition. On YouTube, however, positive comments prevail, including both Polish and foreign internet users. We will find out exactly which place was taken by the Polish proposal after Saturday's final.

Controversy in voting

It is worth mentioning, however, that there was misleading information regarding the possibility of voting for Poland from Norway. The controversial situation took place on the Norwegian station NRK 1. The board that informed about the possibility of voting for the Polish proposal was given the wrong number. We are the only Norwegian portal that has provided correct information.

Polish successes so far

One of the greatest successes of our compatriots at Eurovision was Edyta Górniak's second place during Poland's debut in 1994. In turn, the 2014 proposal of We're Slavic by Cleo and Donatan is considered one of the most controversial performances in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest. Michał Szpak, who made "Color of Your Life" in 2017, was also highly rated. Ultimately, he was ranked 8th, but this position was significantly lowered as a result of bad judging by the jury. In the audience vote, the Polish proposal took third place.
