Wood imitation tiles

In the near future, the wood structure will continue to be eagerly used by both designers and investors. This is due to the fact that this material gives the interior a unique atmosphere. It warms them up and makes a given room friendlier to live in. In addition, porcelain tiles with a wood texture give the possibility of any coloring and giving deep structures. These benefits are unattainable with real wood. This material has its limitations, e.g. oak has its only unique color, and all dyes either fade with time or require varnishing, at the expense of its natural appearance.

Tiles versus floorboards

Before buying tiles imitating wood, the question is often asked why choose them, if there are floorboards? There are several basic advantages to choosing ceramic products, however, and they are as follows:

  • They are distinguished by greater resistance to mechanical damage than the boards
  • The tiles can also be used outdoors and are maintenance-free
  • Higher abrasion class than floorboards
  • Ceramic tiles are more resistant to UV radiation
  • Due to their durability, the tiles can be installed anywhere - they are not afraid of frost, moisture or solar radiation

Stone imitation tiles

The second noticeable trend is the tendency to buy tiles imitating stone. This is due to the increasing durability of stoneware, which is basically the same as stone tiles. This is a huge added value, because porcelain stoneware is also significantly cheaper and does not require impregnation.

Trends in ceramic tiles. Gres or stone?

However, the choice between one material and another is not so obvious. There are types of stone that do not require regular maintenance, and at the same time are distinguished by high durability. It all depends on the destination and the available budget. It is best to go to a specialized consulting company for advice. Experts from companies such as Skandpol based in Rumia will gladly dispel any doubts and provide comprehensive advice on such issues as: choosing a pattern that will best suit a given interior and choosing a material for walls or floors.
