As reported by the Norwegian media, the traditional concert after the Nobel Peace Prize will not take place. The official reason is the lack of sufficient funds. The Nobel Prize Gala will be held this year on December 10th. However, as the organizers admit - the format of a traditional concert should be rethought.

There will be no concert
The gala is organized together with the Nobel Foundation, Warner Bros Norway and Gyro Event. The official announcement issued on Tuesday announced that the traditional concert after the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize will not take place this year. “The decision was preceded not only by the need for change format of this concert, but also a reflection on the financial results in previous years," they add.
Change in the way the award ceremony is broadcast
Development is also a challenge new technologies. In the era of widely available Internet on mobile devices, broadcasting live on TV is no longer sufficient. For this reason, sponsors who fully financed the television broadcast withdraw their financial support. Therefore, the organizers are considering the possibility of using new technologies to broadcast the Nobel Prize ceremony live.
Co dalej?
The concert accompanying the Nobel Peace Prize has been organized continuously since 1994 in the Spektrum hall in Oslo. So far, over 100 artists have performed, ranging from Whitney Houston to Lady Gaga. However, Tuesday's decision is the beginning of a change in the broadcast format of this gala. It is caused by the development of modern mobile technologies and more and more common access to the Internet. The organizers face quite a challenge - the lack of use of the leading trends caused an outflow of sponsors, thanks to which the annual concert could be held. Changing the format and using new platforms, including those dedicated to mobile devices, is just the beginning. The Nobel Foundation must move with the times to avoid similar problems in the future.
