The oil crisis in 2014 resulted in the dismissal of 40-50 jobs. workers in the oil sector. After four years, the situation returns to normal and only Rogaland currently lacks 2000 employees in this industry. Although there are 5000 unemployed in this district, NAV is looking for new jobs abroad.

I will hire an engineer

Recently, Rogaland has become the county with the lowest unemployment rate, currently between 1% and 2%. - There is much more to work in Rogaland than a few years ago - says Truls Nordahl (NAV director in Rogaland) for Aftenbladet - Some specialists are hard to keep and therefore we have to look for new hands to work abroad in Norway - he adds.

Good times

One of the main reasons for the shortage of employees is the very good situation in all economic sectors. As a result of increasing revenues, Norwegian employers are increasing the level of employment, also in specialist and managerial positions. For this reason, there is a very high demand for professionals, and in the context of their lack - entrepreneurs compete strongly with each other for them. In July alone, 2 job offers were announced, 500 of which were for engineers and IT specialists.

The demand will grow

As evidenced by the development trends in the crude oil market, one should expect an increase in the number of job vacancies in this sector. We also informed yesterday that we should expect an increase in the average annual wage - according to DNB, the average monthly wage will increase at the rate of NOK 17 for the next 000 years. In turn On May 30, OECD announcedthat 2018 will be better for the Norwegian economy than previously announced, and that the country's GDP will increase by 2,5%. This is good news for Poles who come to the Land of Fjords mainly to raise their standard of living. Thanks to the good economic situation, the chance of finding a stable and profitable job increases.
