Festival of Culture and Language (orig. Språk- og Kultfestivalen) is organized for the first time in Trondheim on September 15 at 11:00. So far, it has been held in various Norwegian towns, incl. in Oslo. Its aim is to present the different nationalities, cultures and languages spoken by people in Norway.

Interview with Aleksandra Jackowska from the children's club "Towarzystwo Dzieciate w Trondheim"

Where did the idea for organizing the event come from?

The idea for organizing the festival is not ours. We, that is the "Children's Society in Trondheim" and "Polonia in Trondheim", were offered participation and co-organization. Which, of course, we gladly took up.

Who is it for, what groups of people do you want to attract?

The festival is from everyone to everyone. Its aim is to present different nationalities, different cultures and the different languages they speak people in Norway. The intention of the event is to show that despite coming from different parts of the world and growing up in different cultures, we are able to integrate, adapt and respect the country in which we currently live.

This is the first edition of the event? Do you want to organize them periodically?

Yes, this is the first edition of the festival in Trondheim, but another one in Norway (so far the festival took place, among others, in Oslo). It would be great if we had the opportunity to do this also in the coming years.

What can visitors expect?

Visitors can be sure to spend a nice day in international company. As of today, over 30 different countries, including Poland, have registered. There will be lots of music from all over the world. There will be dances, including Bolivian dance. There will be workshops where you will be able to learn a little more about the culture of a given country. In the Polish workshop, we will teach how to make pierogi, of course. You will also be able to learn the secrets of professional photography at workshops conducted by Dariusz Bruhnke.

What bands will perform?

Performances of famous bands are not planned. Instead, there will be performances on stage by representatives of most countries participating in the festival. The "Children's Society in Trondheim" prepares a children's choir for the performance. Children are very conscientious and enthusiastic about this task. They are great!

What dishes will you be able to taste?

You will certainly be able to try a variety of dishes from around the world.
Unfortunately, Poland will not cook, but as I mentioned - I invite you to the pierogi making workshop in the Polish workshop!

Will you be able to see only Polish folk or other countries?

Not only Poland, the whole world will have the opportunity to present itself.

What attractions are planned for children?

There will be plenty of attractions for children, including origami. The Children's Society in Trondheim wants to be very attractive to children, so it's worth taking a look and see for yourself.
