With the match against Bulgaria, Polish volleyball players sealed the game in the next stage of the Volleyball World Championship. The 3: 1 victory gave the Poles the first place in Group D and with a total of 15 points they advanced to the group where they will face the national teams of Serbia, France and Argentina. All matches will be played in Varna.

Devil's cauldron of fans

Bulgaria at this year's World Championships acts as co-host. The players of this country are carried by enthusiasm, which is supported by huge support from the fans. Suffice it to mention that in the match against Poland, the ratio of economic fans to guests was approximately 3200:1500 (out of 4700 total tickets). According to observers of the show, this difference was audible in the arena.

Doping did not suffer the Bulgarians

Such support, however, turned out to be insufficient for the Bulgarians to win against the Poles. Already in the first set the huge class difference in both teams was revealed. Our volleyball players defeated their opponents 25:14. The last two winning points were scored by Szalpuk and Kubiak after fantastically made blocks.

Second set for Bulgarians

In the second set, however, the hosts turned out to be unstoppable in the attack. This is evidenced by, inter alia, 6 points in a row scored by Skrimov. Ultimately, the set was won by our opponents, and the decisive point in this part of the match was scored by the team captain - Yosifov. He turned the scales of victory in favor of his team through a service ace. The set ended with the score 25:23.

Poles did not give up anymore

The third set belonged to the Poles from the very beginning. However, it was interesting at the end of the set - our volleyball players lost the lead and at some point they were already losing 20:22. Thanks to Penchev's play, Nikolov and Gradinarov, the Bulgarians did not score a single point until the end of this part of the match and finally lost the set by 25:22.

Lots of mistakes in the fourth set

The fourth and as it turned out - the last set in this match was full of nervous actions and mistakes in both teams. Both Poles and Bulgarians scored equally and at the end they were leading by 22:23. With this point score, Bratoev made a mistake in the service and the ball passed into the possession of the Poles, who had not made a mistake in the service anymore. Ultimately, our volleyball players won the set 25:23, and finally the whole match 3: 1.

Poles stay in Varna

Our volleyball players stay in Varna, where teams from Serbia, France and Argentina come instead. Bulgaria, in turn, goes to Sofia, where it will face the representations of the USA, Iran and Canada. Taking into account the disposition of our volleyball players - they can go really far in this year's World Championships. They will be able to confirm their class in the near future, when they confront the Serbs and the French. The Argentinians shouldn't be too much of a threat.
