is a solution for those who have permanently lost the ability to work professionally. The amount of this benefit you will receive depends on the extent to which you are deprived of the opportunity to perform your profession.

To qualify for unemployment benefit, you must meet the following criteria:
- you must be between 18 and 67 years old
- you must show that you have paid health insurance contributions to the Norwegian Health System in the last 3 years before being diagnosed with a disability,
- illness or injury must be the main reason for your permanent inability to work,
- you must complete the rehabilitation process,
- Your working capacity has fallen below 50% minimum due to illness or injury.

If, at the time of applying for this benefit you are taking a compensatory supplement, you must show that your working capacity has fallen to at least below 40%. However, if your disability is due to an injury or illness acquired in the course of your work, your working capacity must fall below 30% to qualify for Disability Benefit.
The amount of the allowance
it is calculated on the basis of income received in the last few years preceding the occurrence of the disease or injury. If your income is lower than the base rate or you have not received any income, you are entitled to the lowest and basic amount of the benefit. Benefit supplements
In justified circumstances, you can also count on supplements to the allowance. The following should be specified:
- child allowanceif you are caring for a person under the age of 18,
- if your spouse or cohabitant dies, you can apply for allowance from the death of a partner,
- you have the right to obtain a disabled person's card, as long as your working capacity is below 50%. You are entitled to it regardless of the relationship in which you combine the receipt of the allowance with work,
- you do not have to pay off all student loans when you get Disability Allowance in Norway,
- if your income is small and the cost of maintaining your home is high, you can apply for a grant housing allowance.

Departure to another country
Your disability allowance in Norway may be lower when you move to another country. This generally does not happen as long as you live in another EEA country. Refugees are an exception - they may lose their entitlement to benefits after they leave Norway.
