September 22 is a perfect day for free riders, because today is the European Car Free Day. On this occasion, many Polish city authorities provide free city transport.
European Sustainable Transport Week
ETZT runs from September 16 to 22. Its highlight is the last day of the action, a car-free day. The watchword of the week is 'Change and Go'. ETZT promotes ecological means of collective transport such as bicycles, pedestrian traffic, but also multimodal transport. The aim of this action is to show the many benefits of various transport, e.g. saving money, time, but also many benefits for our health. In Poland, the action takes place for the 17th time.

A day without a car in Warsaw
On Saturday, in the capital city, everyone can use free transport in two zones. In addition, until the end of the day, everyone can also use the free entrance to the P + R car park. The Warsaw Commuter Railway also joined the action and informed that regardless of the route and travel time, the journeys are free of charge.
Warsaw is not alone
Gdańsk and the area of the entire Gdańsk Bay Metropolitan Communications Union also offers free transport for all passengers who have a valid vehicle registration certificate and are its owners or co-owners. Wrocław also does not stand out from the rest of Polish cities and also offers free public transport in the city, but also in some neighboring municipalities. Additionally, on September 22, Wrocław organizes a picnic called "Car Free Day at Solny Square". Numerous attractions are planned during the picnic.

It's been 17 years now
The European Sustainable Transport Week has been running for seventeen years now. It was initiated in 2002. Its main goal is to encourage people to travel ecologically, e.g. by bike, on foot or by public transport.
