The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate has issued an orange alert for heavy snow in the central and outer areas of Agder and Telemark.

40-80 cm of snow is expected from Monday evening to Thursday in the central and outer areas of Agder and Telemark. There could be more locally, he writes NVE in warning o danger on Monday afternoon. An orange alert means the danger is serious.

- At the border between Agder and Telemark, 20-40 cm is expected from Monday evening. At the other end of the Agder coast, rainfall can be sleet or rain. Less rainfall in the Northeast of Telemark.

They warn that heavy snowfall can affect sensitive infrastructure and that many road participants will have to extend their travel times. Difficult driving conditions are generally warned.

- Snow drifts in the mountains will hinder visibility and driveability, writes NVE.

They also write that this could affect electricity outages and give the following advice:

- Protect sensitive installations and objects that cannot withstand the expected amount of snow. Assess if the trip is necessary. Calculate a lot of extra time for transport and driving. Use the correct tires and drive according to road conditions.
