The largest NATO exercise since the Cold War will take place soon. They were called Trident Juncture 18 and will run from October 25 to November 7 in Norway. The exercises will prove the great strength of the organization.

Enormity of the soldier's strength

About 50 soldiers from 000 countries, including 31 member states NATO will take part in maneuvers organized in the central part of Norway. Soldiers will take an active part in land exercises, but also in naval operations in the North Atlantic and the Baltic Sea. The previously mentioned number is approximately 10 more soldiers than in the Strong Resolve exercises that took place in Poland in 000. Poland then gathered all members of the alliance and 2002 partner countries. A significant number of over 11 vehicles will take part in the maneuvers. According to the Norwegian army, the cable car measures 10 km (000 miles) from start to finish.

Numerous crew

250 aircraft, including the famous USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, are also preparing for the maneuvers. The exercise will host over 60 ground forces as well as 20 naval personnel including the US Marines, 000 air force personnel, approximately 24 logistics specialists and 000 employees from various NATO headquarters. The top five contributors to the event are the United States, Germany, Norway, the United Kingdom and Sweden.

A big logistic problem

Organizing and accommodating such a large number of soldiers in one place is a real challenge. Housing, feeding and supporting so many people requires smart and safe logistics to organize the entire event. The Norwegian army has installed 35 additional beds. In addition, approximately 000 million meals and 1,8 million bottles of water are planned to be distributed, and almost 4,6 tons of dirty linen will be washed.

Accidents happen to everyone

The Dutch army, proving that good preparation is not always easy and that even soldiers can commit a small faux pas, forgot to buy warm clothing for the 1000 soldiers taking part in the exercise, reports the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
