Time change in Norway? What time will citizens choose?

Recently, things got loud about the time change. The European Union will allow member states to choose a fixed target time. Time change in Norway? Who will decide? Torbjørn Røe Isaksen, Minister for Education and Research, believes that it is up to the citizens to decide. 

The European Union and the time shift

For many member states time change from summer to winter it was usually problematic. It happened many times that people forgot to change clocks, which was a consequence of, for example, many delays. In addition, there was a problem with switching to a different time of getting up, etc. In many countries, the act on resignation from time changes was in the plans, but it never happened. Fortunately, the EU itself made this decision. All thanks to an online survey in which as many as 84% ​​of people were in favor of quitting time changes.

Minister Røe Isaksen advises you to ask people

As the European Union has allowed member states to decide on what time they stay, the minister education and research Norway has a solution. The politician thinks so the decision is too serious for the government to decide on a change on its own time, so he suggested seeking the opinion of the citizens themselves.

Internet and poll is a good solution

The European Union has decided to abandon the time changes on the basis of an online survey. Roe Isaksen thinks that in case Norway will also be good idea, “We have already seen other countries using online surveys and population surveys. To do something like this without spending a lot of money, I think an online survey is a very good idea.”

The next time change in Norway

Next Sunday it is October 28 will be held time change from summer to winter. Who knows, maybe it will be the last one change that will take place in Norway. The clocks will be set back one hour at 3 a.m. and Norwegians will be able to sleep longer.
