Today at 9:45 a.m., 110 a fire station received a message about a fire in the village of Eidsvågskogen. The fire fight lasted 2,5 hours! Fire is no longer a danger.
Strong fire power
The fire broke out on Monday morning. The fire attacked a house where four families live. The chief fire officer in Bergen, Tommy Kristoffersen, reported at 11:50 that the fire had still not been extinguished. “The fire is still big and we have no control over it. The house is old and quite large, with many depressions that help it spread.” It was only at 12:25 that it was confirmed that the fire brigade had completed the rescue operation and the fire was no longer dangerous. Important information is the fact that people who were quickly evacuated from the scene did not suffer any injuries.

Unidentified fire source
While extinguishing the fire, firefighters had a very big problem. For a long time they were unable to locate the source of the fire. All they saw was smoke. At 10:50 the smoke cleared and firefighters reported it residents of the area to close all windows and doors to prevent smoke from entering their homes. At one point, firefighters were forced to extinguish the fire from above because the fire flames took a dangerous direction that could threaten nearby buildings.
Bad news on the way to work
Hanning Anundsen is one of the residents of the house that caught fire today. We can read in NRK that he was on his way to work when he received bad news about a fire. “I was on my way to work when I received the message. Then the police called. I quickly turned the car around and went home.” Hanning and other residents of the residence stood outside the entire time, watching as the fire was extinguished. “It's a dramatic moment when you watch your entire life's work being consumed by the flames of fire, but you're happy when you find out that no one was hurt,” adds a resident of the residence.
