Norway: minus 21 degrees at night

Tonight was really cold in many places in Norway. The lowest temperature was recorded in Leirflaten in the municipality of Sel in the district of Oppland. What's more - weather forecasters predict heavy snowfall in the mountains in the south of the country.

It will be snowy in the mountains

As forecasted by weather forecasters, the coming days will not pamper the inhabitants of eastefjells. Already this evening (Wednesday, November 28 - editor's note) the weather will worsen significantly. Meteorologists warn about the upcoming snowfall, which can sometimes turn into freezing rain. The temperature will be around zero degrees Celsius.

Fatal conditions for drivers

Such a weather forecast is unfavorable for drivers. It means very difficult conditions for driving a car. Black ice may appear in places. Therefore, it is worth being careful, especially when cornering and moving around water reservoirs. Moreover, weather forecasters predict that a violent wind will blow from Wednesday to Thursday. It will be accompanied by intense snowfall.

Not much better in other cities

The Institute of Meteorology also warns other residents places in southern Norway. Both in Vest Agder and Aust Agder. Heavy rainfall is expected on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. Up to 60 to 80 millimeters per square meter can fall in 24 hours. Initially it will be snow, which will turn into rain as temperatures rise.

Windy in Rogaland and Hordaland

In Rogaland and Hordaland counties, neither snow nor rain are forecasted. It is supposed to blow up quite a lot. On Wednesday night, the wind speed is expected to reach 30-35 m / s. Strong gusts can lead to problems with access to electricity in some places. Weather forecasters also warn against the possibility of fallen trees standing on the road.

According to meteorological warnings, we must be careful on the following roads:

  • Fv 45 on the section Grytestøyl boom (Aust-Agder border) - Valley
  • Fv 45 on the section Rotemo - Grytestøyl bom (Telemark border)
  • Rv 9 Hovden - Haukeli
  • Ev 134 in Haukefjell
  • Ev 134 on the section Seljestad - Horda at the junction Haugesund - Røldal
  • Rv 52 in Hemsedalsfjellet
  • Ev 16 at Filefjell
  • Fv 53 on the Tyin - Årdal section in Oppland
  • Fv 50 on the section Hol - Aurland in Sogn og Fjordane
