Asylum for Silje Garmo in Poland is becoming more and more real. The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a positive opinion for sheltering a Norwegian woman who fled from Barnevernet with her younger daughter a year ago. Now the asylum for Silje Garmo has to be confirmed by the Office for Foreigners.

Asylum was denied in July

As reported, in July this year the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs refused to grant asylum to a Norwegian woman. The decision was then made by Minister Jacek Czaputowicz, citing important interest of the Republic of Poland. Lawyers defending the interests of Silje Garmo from Ordo Iuris have announced reference from that decision. If they were refused again, attorney Bartosz Lewandowski announced bringing the case before the Administrative Court.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs allowed the appeal

He informed about the positive decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on his twitter Bartosz Lewandowski - director of the Ordo Iuris Process Intervention Center. Asylum for Silje Garmo - the drama has been going on for a long time

Let's remind that refuge for Silje Garmo became a famous case after the Norwegian woman fled to Poland before Barnevernet in May 2017. Norwegian office he was going to take her away rights to a three-year-old daughter Eira. Earlier, in 2016, he did this with the then thirteen-year-old Froya.

The date of issuing the decision by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been postponed many times, until finally in July this year she was refused asylum. Apparently, the case will end soon - after yesterday's positive opinion from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Norwegian woman has to wait for the official approval of the Office for Foreigners. According to lawyers from Ordo Iuris - it's just a formality.
