Skjåk Municipality in Oppland County. It was here on early Tuesday morning that the shocking event happened. Two buses were rolled off the road.

Two interconnected buses in the municipality of Skjåk

The first event occurred in the early Tuesday morning. The police were informed about this shocking incident and the first services were dispatched to the scene as early as 4:18. Two people on the bus were transported to the hospital in Lillehammer.

Passengers are safe

Before the bus, which was rolled off the road, fell about 30 meters outside the road. When the police and medical services arrived at the scene, the first message was received at 4:48 am that most of the passengers of the overturned bus were fine. All of them were evacuated from the bus tied to the road. One of the injured persons required the help of medical services in the form of dressing the wound on the head which she suffered during the vehicle rollover. Ultimately, only two people from the entire bus were transported to the hospital in Lillehammer. One of them complained of chest pains and the other had minor injuries.

Evacuation of all passengers

In total, he was on board the bus that was lost from the road 26 passengers and the driver of the vehicle. Immediately after the incident, all of them were evacuated to a nearby church in Skjåk. Only later, when everyone was in a safe place, people began to be transferred to nearby municipal offices, and there the paramedics took care of them.

Road coaches, the cause of the accident

At the moment, the cause of the accident is unknown, but the police and road services are of the opinion that the incident was most likely due to severe road conditions. The slippery surface that was warned could lead to this unfortunate accident.

Unfortunate second accident

At the very beginning, we write about two buses that were blown off the road. The second accident happened around 7 a.m. A vehicle bound for Lillehammer was blown off the road by the wind. The incident took place almost 2,5 km east of the place where the first, almost identical accident occurred. This time, they were only on board the vehicle 3 people and none of the passengers or the driver suffered any injuries.
