“Ukraine is now fighting for its existence. The demand for military equipment is high and it is not possible to donate everything from our own resources, says Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.

This is the first of several packages financed by the British-led International Fund for Ukraine, to which Norway has also made a significant contribution. The fund has previously financed norwegian drones. The finished package will contain a wide range of military equipment, including drones, air defenses, ammunition and various surveillance devices.

The effect of cooperation between Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and Great Britain

– This is equipment that is in demand in Ukraine. The fact that we now have a common fund gives us the opportunity to coordinate this armaments support, so that it is as effective as possible, says the Minister of Defence.

The package is the result of cooperation between Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Together with Iceland and Lithuania, these countries contributed over £500 million in total.

“Ukraine needs weapons and military equipment to defend itself. Quick help is needed. Norway is now sending a substantial tank package from our own defense, and we have launched a five-year support package of 75 billion. We also contribute to the training of Ukrainian personnel.

Norway is ready to support Ukraine as long as necessary, said Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.
