The refugee, alcohol and abortion policies mean that the four parties negotiating the establishment of a new government platform cannot reach an agreement. Will Frp block the formation of a new government?

MMF is not going to yield

Three very important issues such as refugee policy, alcohol and the issue of abortion make the negotiations of the four largest Norwegian parties regarding the formation of a new government fail. The main reason for the misunderstanding is that if one party gets its way and their opinion wins the negotiation, it will be a sign of failure of the other parties. Frp, that is the Progressive Party, has announced that it will not resign and will stick to its postulates regarding refugee policy until the end.

MMF wants to tighten refugee policy

The Frp is one of the few parties that has been demanding tightening of immigration policy for a very long time. Their main postulate is to reduce the number of refugees that are accepted by Norway every year. Venstre and the Christian People's Party, in turn, disagree. The latter two want to increase the number of refugees admitted from the current 3.000 to 5.000 per year. Unfortunately, the accepted figure of 3.000 is already a sign that only Australia and Canada are accepting more refugees per population in Norway.

Have to wait!

Just today, on Monday, the Norwegians were supposed to meet the new government. However, it is already known that we will have to wait a long time for all the details. Negotiations between the four parties, ie Høyre, the Progressive Party, Vensgtre and the Christian People's Party, have started on 2 January.

Will KrF be in government?

The presence of the KrF party, i.e. the Christian People's Party, in the government is a great unknown. It turns out that FRP conducted a secret vote in which they want to verify how much people will oppose the cooperation of the KrF with the government. If it is a large majority, it will only mean one thing. The government will continue to work with three parties, as it has done so far

Will KrF make a breakthrough?

First and foremost, the KrF party wants to ban the abortion of twin pregnancies, and also to end all liberalization of the rules governing places where alcohol is served. Will the Christian People's Party manage to introduce the above-mentioned postulates? It all depends on whether the party joins the government.
