The Norwegian Public Roads Administration will have to close the toilets in winter. Lack of budget means that cost-cutting opportunities are being searched everywhere. What do the professionals say the driver?

Closed toilets in winter

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration, due to a very small budget and large financial problems, must look for cost cutting opportunities everywhere. The limited budget has led to the fact that there are no financial resources to maintain the toilets during the winter. The cost of road maintenance during the winter season is too high, which is why ADP makes such decisions. The only question is, what do professional drivers who travel hundreds of kilometers a day and suddenly there will be no active toilet in their place of rest?

Working without a toilet?

There is no denying that professional drivers are furious. This situation deprives them of access to toilets, and yet physiological needs are the highest value in Maslow's pyramid. For everyone For a professional driver, the road is his workplace. When the Norwegian Public Roads Administration closes toilets for the winter, it deprives thousands of professional drivers of access to toilets during their working hours. Not to mention ordinary drivers who also have their own needs.

Only 60 places to rest

Professional drivers work very hard. They are often forced to stay overnight in a place that is completely unsuitable for parking and spending the designated break time there. IN Norway currently exists 60 seats, which are a special rest area for professional drivers. Such areas are usually cleared of snow and this is where you can use the open toilet. Unfortunately, considering the number of drivers, 60 specially dedicated places to rest throughout Norway, this is definitely not enough. ago a construction plan was developed 150 such places, but as can be deduced, their formation is accompanied by the speed of the cochlea. In itself in 2018 only they arose 3.

Because priorities are the most important!

The problem with the limited budget of the Norwegian Public Road Administration means that individual regions have to decide what is their top priority. If the toilets are not closed, there will be no finances for snow removal, cleaning and garbage collection. At the moment there is no other solution. The future looks colorful, however, as work is currently underway on obtaining new funds, thanks to which in 2022-2025, a new leisure space will be created. The plan provides for the construction of a year-round vacation spot for everyone 50-70 km of the national road network.
