To counter the transmission and spread of infection, the government has imposed strict entry restrictions which means that very few foreigners are allowed to enter Norway. However, foreigners who live in Norway with a residence permit or a right of residence under the Immigration Act are exempt from entry restrictions.

It is no longer required to register with the National Register as a resident of Norway
The government has decided that it is necessary to include relief in the documentation requirement to be considered a resident of Norway. Here are the main points of the new rules that apply now:
- Foreigners who permanently reside in Norway, which means that they have their permanent residence here, are exempt from entry restrictions.
- A prerequisite is a residence permit or residence permit in accordance with the Immigration Act.
-If you cannot document your registration as a resident, you must prove that you own or rent your place of residence in Norway.

-If you are renting a residence, you must submit a rental agreement stating that you were domiciled when you left Norway and that you have one now when you want to enter again.
– As a clear general rule, the lease that was in force at the time of departure is required. If you don't have it, you must submit additional documents authorizing you to live in Norway. This may be an employment contract or confirmation of your studies or place at school.
-If you are not registered as a resident in the population register, you must also provide that you will return to Norway after going abroad or staying temporarily abroad. For example, you can present a flight ticket for departure.
