For many years, a number of irregularities have been observed in many employment agencies. This applies to many levels of operation of this type of enterprises: errors in company structures, job offers that raise a number of doubts. Unfortunately, this disturbing trend is also visible in Norway. The state has decided to counteract fraud and irregularities, announced the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Anniken Hauglie. New regulations will come into force on 1 January, what will change?

Employment agencies in Norway - a vision of changes and long terms of their implementation

Stop abuses in the job placement industry - Norwegian agencies under supervisionThe plans are big. The number of inspections by employment agencies is to be increased: both in terms of structures, human resources and, above all, contracts with employees. Unfortunately, despite great willingness, the realities do not look so rosy and optimistic. The planned changes are not expected to enter into force until next year, what until then? The lack of control and supervision of contracts mainly affects young workers who start their careers.

“Hired workers with poor conditions work they need on the road to fight for your case because the government has eliminated the right to class action lawsuits. This will affect young people who are on the threshold of professional life and hired foreign workers, who in practice remain completely without rights, emphasized Arild Grande from the Labor Party (Arbeiderpartiet).

. Labor law in Norway - breaking the law at the beginning of the day

Stop abuses in the job placement industry - Norwegian agencies under supervisionChanges and checks should take place from now on, as soon as possible. There are many infringements every day - including, to a large extent, in the construction industry, as I noticed during the audit by Statsbygg. The most important of the accusations are: too low working time in contracts, lack of specified working time. Most of the employees are from Eastern Europe. Statsbygg representatives also emphasize the following fact:

“We found companies where only five of the fifty employees had more than half-time jobs. Others had five to fifteen percent contracts, ”says one member of Statsbygg.
