Erna Solberg introduced the new Norwegian government yesterday! Discussions during its creation led to many plans for changes. One of them is the idea of ​​a coalition that proposed opening a new type of prisons. Will the government create a new type of prisons for children?

A new kind of prisons for children

The new Norwegian government will be made up of four parties: Frp Progress Party, KrF Christian People's Party, Venstre and Hoyre. They all made a joint decision about the creation a new type of prisons. A new type of children's prison will be targeted at the youngest who commit serious crimes. The spokesman for the Progress Party, Solveig Horne, believes so places in Norway they are incredibly necessary. There are cases where even 14-year-old children commit rape and broadly understood violence. Norway and hers youth need a new type of prison for children. These places will teach how to set appropriate boundaries and apply penalties.

We say NO to juvenile delinquency!

The Ministry of Justice has long announced that it intends to clearly fight crime among the youngest Norwegians, which is why they want to introduce changes in juvenile detention facilities. Numerous crimes and gang affiliations are currently the country's biggest problem that Norway struggles with every day. The four parties that began to form a new government coalition issued a letter in which they clearly stated: "The government will consider childcare institutions, including centers with limited mobility. They are intended to enable enforcement of compliance with the rules by persons under 15 years of agewho commit serious crimes and may pose a threat to themselves or others.”

Opinion of the spokesman of the Party of Progress

Advocate for the Progress Party, Solveig Horne, believes that in order to improve control over juvenile offenders, inter-service cooperation must first be strengthened. In addition, there is a need to improve the quality of the tools used by childcare services.
