Additionally, 600 people were deprived of benefits due to rejecting job offers, and the largest number, 8.500 people, were deprived of benefits due to their own departure from their previous job without giving a specific reason or justification for this decision. To sum up, the office took away benefits from 11.400 people, and ultimately, thanks to these activities, it managed to save exactly CZK 505,7 million.

Are you not looking for a job? They can take your benefit

New and, admittedly, increasingly strict regulations allow the office to withdraw unemployment benefits for a specified period of time. When can this happen and for how long can they take the person away? unemployed benefit? If a job seeker does not attend classes organized by Nav in order to activate people and develop them, or avoids actively looking for a job, the office has the right to withdraw unemployment benefits from such a person. This can be done for 4,8,12, 26, XNUMX or even XNUMX weeks.

Do not ask for social assistance - this is the main goal

The main goal of legal tightening, which may lead to the temporary withdrawal of benefits for unemployed people, is to reduce the number of requests for social assistance as much as possible. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Anniken Hauglie is of the opinion that the restrictions must be introduced and does not rule out that they will become even more stringent. Finally, in an interview with Nettavisen, the minister adds: "We want as many people as possible to work and to use social assistance as little as possible. The requirement for compulsory job search activity within the social welfare system is an important element in ensuring the sustainable development of a welfare society.
