The Polish government wants to facilitate the return of Poles from gainful employment abroad to the country. For this purpose, a special emigrant's package will be created, which will, among other things, have tax incentives. Jadwiga Emilewicz, the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology, informed about the government's activities.

Package for an expat

The package is prepared especially for people who left the country some time ago for work. The Polish State wants to encourage these people to return because they may not realize how many interesting job offers are waiting for them at present. For this purpose, an emigrant's package is being created, which is currently being discussed with the Minister of Finance, Teresa Czerwińska, and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

Poland will not be the first

The emigrant's package created by Poland is another such package in the history of Europe. In the past, the Czech Republic and Portugal have taken similar actions, but as Minister Emilewicz says, Poland does not intend to follow anyone and will create its own, original package. After all, it is not known at the moment what it will contain and what it will encourage people to come back to the country.

Uncertainty about Brexit

The minister hopes that at a time when many of our compatriots live in uncertainty about Brexit, the expatriate package will especially encourage Poles to return. It is estimated that when it is ready, about 30% of emigrants will use it. In addition, it should be added that it is about the wave of emigrants after 2004, and not only those who left for Great Britain.

Data on Polish emigrants

The emigrant's package may be collected as if it was created for the needs of emigrants in Great Britain because, according to GUS data, at the end of 2017, there were a total of 793 Poles staying there. The second country to which Poles still travel most often is Germany, because the same data of the Central Statistical Office indicates the number of 703 Poles.
