Children and young people sell sex to other young people on social media and this often turns into abuse. Agder police sound the alarm and ask for parental support.
A few young people, both girls and boys, sells nude photos and sex to other young people, which often escalates into brutal abuse, police say. They are victims children under 13 years of age, while the perpetrators are mostly between 15 and 19 years old.
This prompted the police to issuing a warning parents of teenagers.

A reason to intervene loudly and decisively
Section leader Benedicte Severinsen from the violence clinic in Agder says that, especially in the last year, they have seen very serious abuses between children and youth.
"This is definitely a reason to talk about it," says Severinsen.
Police write in a statement that the sale of sexual services to young people has become more common. Agder Police is investigating approximately 70 such cases.
– This is often initiated via social media, such as Snapchat. It's easy to contact each other here, the police and the abuse monitoring team write in a joint statement.
– The transfer is usually made in Vipps, which is available for children aged 10 years. The money can flow in quickly, without being noticed by parents, they write.
. Abuse in public spaces
Kripos has previously warned about this trend and pointed out that common vulnerability factors such as intoxication, psychiatry, and neglect are no longer a prerequisite. All social classes are included.

Police write that these incidents are increasingly occurring during the day, in public places such as parks, public toilets and shopping centers.
