Immigrants as the group of people most frequently convicted of crimes in Oslo

TV 2 reports that immigrant men are the most frequently convicted people for numerous crimes in Oslo. It is this group of people who hears judgments most often in the District Court in the capital of Norway.

Immigrants - most frequently punished in Oslo

Television 2 analyzed all the judgments concerning serious injuries from 2018 to the current period, which took place in Oslo. It turns out that at that time as many as 140 people committed the above-mentioned of the act and heard the information about the punishment. Most of the convicts are men, although this information is not what worries them. The most surprising fact is that 70% of these 140 people are immigrants.

33% of the population

According to statistics, 33% of people living in Norway is made up of immigrants. Most often, these are people who came here to work or have parents born abroad. Researcher Ragnhild Bjornebekk from the Police College reports that the phenomenon of high crime rates among immigrants does not surprise her because it results from the origins of different cultures in which violence may be more common. These are often people who have been through a lot, have traumas and come from brutal cultures. As a result of these experiences, they take them with them to another country as a kind of luggage. Unfortunately, this translates into certain statistics.
