Norway is considered to be one of the safest countries in Europe. However, here, too, society no longer feels safe. It has to do with the recent attacks by the knife cutters. This year, the police in Oslo have called for more than 40 acts of knife violence. And this is just the tip of the iceberg of police statistics.
Chilling stories and the need for security
Norwegian society no longer felt safe - that's a fact. More and more people are looking for solutions that will give them a sense of comfort and guarantee a life without fear. The inhabitants of Oslo are more and more willing to buy protective clothing in order to protect themselves against an attack of aggression.
Frode Olafsen, a manager at the Detective Store SpyShop in Oslo, admitted in one of his talks with P4 radio that sales of this type of clothing increased significantly in recent months by around 300 percent. The owners of other stores with a similar profile also note an increase in turnover. The vests and gloves are the quickest to disappear from the shelves.
Who's afraid of the knife attack in Oslo?
The customers of protective clothing stores are usually men aged 30-40. The assortment of these stores is also eagerly used by women and the elderly - but more often they need a simple conversation, advice on how to protect themselves from violence. They are looking for support and understanding for their fears and concerns.
