The situation is different with benefits. Unemployment benefit payments "plunged" as much as 21 percent to 10,7 billion. Rehabilitation allowances (arbeidsavklaringspenger) are 5 percent lower at 32,1 billion.

Sigrun Vågeng, director of the Labor and Welfare Office, makes an important point: “Nav manages huge sums on behalf of society. Our spending statistics show that the labor market is improving, but at the same time we have... Norway increasingly a more aging society. We are therefore seeing a disturbing increase in disability pension payments.”

The Norwegian resident received around 81.200 kronor last year. The pension was received by 2018 people in 976.00, and the total amount of pensions paid is 217 billion crowns.

work in Norway - more economically active people are needed

Social services in Norway are working very well. Norway is a country that can afford to help its citizens. But there must be more people working for everything to work as it should, emphasizes Vågeng: “ Last year, every third person of working age in Norway, at least for some time, was under the care of Nav. We have the privilege of living in a country where the community can help those in need, but there is no doubt that we must have more people working in the country in the coming years to be able to maintain the current level of prosperity.
