Today we have infamous information that the Norwegians should not be proud of. Norway is one of the countries where the highest number of insurance fraud occurs. In what situations are we the most "creative"? What are the biggest scams? How are the statistics presented?

Extortion of damages - a game for large amounts ...

We checked the latest data - in the first quarter of 2019, the Norwegians tried to cheat the companies insurance for almost 100 million kronor. We are now seeing an increase of approximately CZK 70 million compared to the same period last year. These calculations concern only the most serious cases and cases violating the law of insurance contracts. The problem is much more serious.

Fraud, what is the fraud?

Most often, Norwegians "bend the facts" on the following issues:

  • exaggerating damage related to a traffic accident or loss of property as a result of a fire,
  • overstating the amount requested by the aggrieved party,
  • understating earnings,
  • scams related to social benefits and pensions.

Most frauds involve pension fraud. However, if we take into account the amounts of fraud, the situation is slightly different. Most illegal benefits concern property damage. Residents of Norway they mainly cheat on travel, car or home insurance. General the amount of fraud is CZK 155.000. There are also planned post-accident claims.

Why so many He extorts compensation from Norwegians? Are the benefits so low? Are they so difficult to get?
