National Debt Register in Norway

Some time ago on our website we wrote about the Norwegian life on credit. As it turns out, despite high earnings in the country of fjords, many people get into debt, taking out a vacation loan, among other things. In many cases, Norwegians want to live beyond their means. They take a dream vacation loan, ignoring the fact that they will have to pay back such a loan.

National Debt Register in Norway - what will change?

The first National Debt Register (KRD) in Norway - Gjeldsregisteret AS was launched on Thursday, June 27, 2019. Its task will be to track all debts of Norwegians: from loans, consumer loans, credit cards. Everything will be written in black and white from July 1, 2019, future lenders and consumers themselves will have a chance see your total unsecured debt in one place.

Norwegians increasingly indebted ...

The statistics are terrifying. Since 2018, Norwegians have been borrowing heavily. According to data presented by the country's largest technology concern EVRY ASA, over 567 inhabitants of Norway ma “ogon długów”  z tytułu kart kredytowych. Jak nie trudno się domyśleć od nich naliczane są spore odsetki często przekraczające 20 procent. Bardzo wiele osób posiada tzw. kredyty konsumpcyjne. Wbrew pozorom dłużnikami nie są tylko young people. Most often they are men aged 40-60.
