A month before the government submits its proposal to the state budget, Siv Jensen confirms that the tax rate will be further reduced.
- In the state budget for next year, the government will present a further reduction in property tax, says Jensen for NRK.
During last year's budget presentation, it became clear that the maximum tax rate will be cut from 2020. The Finance Minister now presents his second cut, which will make a breakthrough on the government platform in January.
In total, 101 municipalities will have to lower the tax rate.
"It will be in effect from 2021, but all of this will be presented by the government in full in spring," says Jensen.

Labor Party spokesman Rigmor Aasrud believes that the economy in several municipalities is powered only by property tax income and that the trend is aggravated. He believes that reducing property taxes by the government will reduce their welfare.
- We believe that it is very irresponsible only because it will affect the elderly in the municipalities. Municipalities receive less income, which means fewer nurses and fewer skilled workers. They can work and provide good services to older people in the municipalities.
He believes that it is up to the municipality to decide what amount of property tax they should have.
- When it comes to Property tax, this is the only income that the commune can provide itself, and the elected commune officials make decisions themselves because they want to provide good services to the commune's residents.
