NRK subscription - what next? A TV license is a very important issue for many citizens. Some time ago, the government's new budget plans for 2020 officially appeared. Many people ask. What about the subscription? First of all, the form of paying the subscription will change. So far, users have paid on the basis of invoices sent twice a year. The price was fixed for everyone and was CZK 3038,56 for the whole year. From January 1, 2020, the subscription will be paid from the state budget. Does this mean that the state will fully take over the payments and relieve the citizens? It turns out that not really. The subscription amount will simply be included in each citizen's annual tax return. This way, everyone will pay - even people who don't use receivers. What else will change?

NRK TV subscription - attention, rates change!

In short. Full fixed wages will apply. This amount may be reduced by a tax allowance - depending on the economic and family status of the taxpayer. The fixed fee will be CZK 3121. Who will be able to take advantage of the discount?

Primarily  people receiving the lowest pension rate, the so-called minstepensjon, because they will not pay a single crown under the new rules. They do not pay income tax, so they are 100% exempt from subscription fees. Single people, single parents or single retirees will pay 1621 kr, which is about half the rate.

Traditional television in the era of streaming platforms?

NRK TV license. It cannot be denied that the new rules that will come into force in 2020 are the state's way of maintaining television. In the age of the Internet, and above all, with the growing popularity of streaming platforms such as NETFLIX, HBO GO, less and less people watch TV in the evenings. We wrote about it recently in the text: Norwegian HBO and Netflix series - will there be more and more of them? We are more willing than usual to switch to movies and series online. We also look for information on the web. There are fewer and fewer classic news programs. For this reason, adding a subscription to it was the most deliberate and strategic move of the government.
