November 11 without fatal accidents – statistics! We have good news, on the second long weekend of November, on November 11, to be precise, no one died. This is undoubtedly a great success, which proves not only that drivers were careful, but also that the police operation "November Weekend" ended with considerable success.
November 11 no fatalities - a handful of statistics!
The success of the police action "November weekend" is spectacular. It started on Friday at 6 am and lasted until 22 pm on Monday. November 11, which is precisely Monday, was the first day this year in which no one was killed on the roads. Such data was disclosed to the public by the Police Headquarters. The main reasons behind the success of the action are increased speed controls and the placement of a much larger number of (also unmarked) police patrols on the roads. During the entire 4 days, there were 234 road accidents, killing 11 people. Last year, the statistics were much more unfavorable. There were 239 road accidents on the roads, killing 22 people.
Drunken drivers still pose a threat
On November 11, there were no fatalities. Despite this, drunk drivers, speed and recklessness are still a problem. Unfortunately, not all statistics regarding the "November Weekend" campaign are so optimistic. The numbers regarding arrests of people driving cars are much worse than in previous years under the influence of alcohol. It is worth noting that last year, the police detained 599 such drivers. This year, that number was more than double. It was 1301. Despite everything, police officers from the Police Headquarters emphasize that last weekend was much safer on the roads than last year. The reason for this state of affairs is primarily a much smaller number of accidents and half the number of victims who died in such accidents. If this trend continues in the coming years, it will undoubtedly be a reason to be proud - not only for the police officers who care for our safety on the roads, but also for drivers and other road users.
November 11 no fatalities - are we more careful?Summarizing ...
This year, November 11 was without fatalities - despite increased traffic. Hopefully, it will motivate us to be careful on the road every day and to keep ourselves and others safe. Good way!
