Are hospitals ready to quarantine and isolate infected people? In Poland, it turns out that not entirely. What is the situation in Norway? Eight years ago it was decided that the airports in Oslo, Bergen and Tromsø should be specially equipped to accommodate air passengers with serious infectious diseases. Unfortunately, one of the airports has not yet met these requirements. Which? What is the situation?

Coronavirus: Airports in Norway. Are Norway's airports ready?

On Monday morning it was estimated that 81 people had already died from viral infection. In addition, 2766 people were found infected, according to Chinese health experts. Cases of infection have also been detected in countries such as the United States, France and Australia.

Current infection map: SEE

"I believe that Norway does not meet the requirements of the international rules of preparedness in the event of an outbreak of Coronavirus or any other such disease." Says Trond Brattland, an infection control consultant for the municipality of Tromsø.

Every month, an average of 775 international passengers land at Norwegian airports. All 000 airports that were to implement the contingency plan should have adequate facilities. Bergen and Oslo are prepared - Tromsø is not fully prepared. If staff on a flight to Norway suspect that some passengers have been infected, the aircraft should head towards one of the three airports.

What about hospitals?

Coronavirus: Airports in Norway. Airports are one thing. But what about hospitals? Unfortunately, as it turns out, even if an infection occurs at the airport, they are not ready to accept infected patients. This applies primarily to institutions medical facilities within the said Tromsø.

Will there be a crisis alert? We don't know that yet. However, Oslo airport sends passengers who have been to international airports for a two-week quarantine.
