Today, Friday, February 21, it has been 83 years since the seated monarch of Norway first saw the light of day. When Duchess Märtha gave birth to him at Skaugum in Asker, a Norwegian prince was born on Norwegian soil for the first time in 567 years.

Harald V came to the throne on the 17th January 1991, after the death of his father.
