On Tuesday, the heir to the throne of Norway, Prince Haakon Magnus, and his wife, Princess Mette-Marit, visited Indre Østfold. The journey started on the Kolbjørnrud farm, then went through Trøgstadheimen. At the end, they visited Fort Høytorp and Askim Frukt-og Bærpresseri.

- We have a very special time behind us. That is why it is such a special feeling that we can all gather together now, said Prince Haakon Magnus. The heir to the throne and Duchess Mette-Marit have come for this year's folklore tour of Indre Østfold.

At Fort Høytorp, the royal couple met with both young people and the elderly for speeches, music and good food. In Trøgstad, the Duke and the 10th grade from Trøgstad ungdomsskole walked a small part of the old route taken by refugees during World War II.

“Following the same route that many refugees traveled during the war years gives you a new perspective on life,” Prince Haakon Magnus said in a speech at Fort Høytorp. The visit to Indre Østfold ended in Askim Fruktog Bærpresseri, where the couple received a gift box of apples from Skaugum.
