Increase in motorhome sales in Norway

2018 is a great year! The increase in sales of motorhomes, or motorhomes, satisfies all producers. This is the third record-breaking year in a row in Norway!

2018 is the third record year in a row in terms of the number of motorhomes sold in Norway. It turns out that the largest and most expensive models are growing in strength. 2017 was a record year in terms of motorhome sales, but the past one was far behind it. In total, it was sold in the previous year 4 aut caravans which gives o 536 units more than in 2017! This difference represents an increase of 14,8% according to OFV.

Luxury is more and more important

The fact that vacationers are setting a new one for the third year in a row record sales of campers in Norway we already know. It is worth adding that the choice is increasingly made towards the largest and most expensive types of motorhomes. In 2018, there was a very large increase, because o 30%, motorhomes registered as heavy goods vehicles. For the customer who decides to make such a purchase, something more than just the price matters. Holidaymakers spend a lot of their time in the motorhome, which is why they care so much about comfort, comfort and luxury.

Planned sales increase by 5%

Although the last three years have brought record sales of motorhomes, NCB announced on August 1 that in 2019 they forecast an increase in sales of motorhomes by 5%! In recent years, we have observed a very large trend in the increase in sales of this type of vehicles. At the end of 2017 on Norwegian roads it was running 48 422 motorhomes, and in 2018 this number exceeded 50 000.  The automotive industry has strongly influenced the perception of travel in recent years. Thanks to such vehicles, holidaymakers do not feel constrained, and their journey can waste a whole year.
