On Monday, police officers informed the media that people who were most likely to have abducted Anne-Elisabeth Hagen had made contact with her family. This is the first contact since January 16, when the police were there last time received information about the abductee.

Anne-Elisabeth Hagen and contact from the kidnappers

The kidnapping of the wife of one of the richest Norwegians is a very high-profile case that has aroused many emotions from the very beginning. For a very long time, the police did not inform the media about the progress of the case until Monday, because it was then that information was provided about contact between the kidnappers and the kidnapped's family. This is very good news because Anne-Elisabeth Hagen's family last had contact with the kidnappers on January 16.

a press conference

The information about the message received from the kidnappers, which was directed to the abducted family, was provided to her by her lawyer. Finally, on the same day, a press conference was organized, at which the family of the abductee issued a special statement. After all, the press attended the meeting, but they could not ask questions.

No confirmation of life

The family of the abductees said at the Monday conference that they were pleased with any contact from the kidnappers. According to the closest woman, Monday's contact was made much better than on January 16. Admittedly, it was only a one-way contact because Anne-Elisabeth Hagen's family had no way of responding, but finally something moved. The police, however, urge us not to make any moves because there is still no certainty that the kidnapped is alive. Before any action is taken, the police first wait for confirmation that the kidnapped is alive and that the kidnappers are not in danger.

The police only advise

In the situation in which the Hagen family finds themselves, the police are only an advisory party. Officers are here to confirmwhether Anne-Elisabeth Hagen is still alive, because since October 31, at 9:14 a.m., when the woman last spoke to a family member, there is no confirmation that she is alive. Ost Regional Police Inspector Tommy Broske adds that this is quite a worrying sign.
