The F-16 planes are decommissioned. On Saturday, Princess Ingrid Alexandra became one of the last to fly this model, the F-16 has been serving in Norway since 1980.
The princess flew to Bodø airport on Saturday morning, she writes NRK .
The flight path was north through Evenes and Stetind towards Bardufoss, then down towards the Lofoten and back to the sea area around Bodø.
Her Royal Highness was thus one of the last people to pilot the F-16 in Norway. The first F-16 aircraft arrived in Norway in 1980. This model is currently being phased out in favor of the newly purchased F-35.
The F-16 will continue to be in service until the F-35 is fully operational in 2025.
