As a result of the coronavirus crisis, the tax administration decides to ease the penalties you receive for late tax settlements.

- We are looking at how we can relax our plans to make them manageable for a large part of the business community. Then we looked specifically at the use of forced penalties. Related to various reporting obligations, says tax director Hans Christian Holte on TV 2.

Among other things, the tax agency recognizes that it can be difficult for many companies to deliver their tax notification on time.

- Due to the delayed filing of the tax return for private traders and limited liability companies, the taxpayer has been temporarily suspended. We do this because we recognize that many companies are in a difficult position, says Holte.

  Tax declarations.

The deadline for submitting tax returns for companies is May 31. Although the system of compulsory penalties for late deliveries has been temporarily suspended. The tax director emphasizes that it is important to deliver as quickly as possible tax return.

There are no changes to the rules for delivering a tax return for individuals. Holte reminds you that it's easy to get an extension if needed.

VAT tax

The Norwegian Tax Agency states that even if the delayed delivery of the VAT notice. Which is served by everyone registered in the VAT register has been temporarily suspended.
