We visited Bergen, a charming, colorful city with an interesting history.
Bryggen, Bergen's old waterfront, recalls the city's importance within the trading empire of the Hanseatic League from the 1955th to the mid-62th centuries. Many fires, the last one in XNUMX, ravaged Bryggen's distinctive wooden houses. Its reconstruction has traditionally followed the old patterns and methods. Thus leaving behind its main structure, which is a relic of the ancient wooden urban structure once common in Northern Europe. Today, about XNUMX buildings remain from this former city.
Bryggen, including its cultural deposits.
It is on the list. In line with the Norwegian Cultural Heritage Act and is also protected by the Norwegian Planning and Construction Act. The adopted protection plan covers a large area that functions as a buffer zone.
Bergen. We are visiting a city in Norway. Views
The most beautiful view of the city can be admired from the Fløien hill. To get to its top, use the Fløibanen cable car
The trip by cable car to the very top, i.e. 320 meters above sea level, takes literally a few minutes. At the top, in addition to the beautiful panorama of the city, we find a good restaurant or we can go for a walk.
Tourists and Bergen residents come to Fløien to relax.
The lower station of the cable car is located in the vicinity of the famous Fish Market. As standard, the cars leave every 15 minutes.
We present some photos from the cable car and the observation deck.
.Fish market
The Bergen Fish Market has existed since the XNUMXth century. Since then, it has been one of the most important places of trade between fishermen, farmers and the townspeople. In addition to merchants who sold their goods ashore, some boat sales along the quay in the square have also been historically reported. Fishermen rowed from the outskirts of town to the dock. They sold the whole day's catch from the boat and then rowed home the same day.
Poles in Bergen
We are the largest national minority in Bergen and in the whole of Norway. There is no shortage of our enterprising compatriots, employees in shops, we are practically everywhere. At the fish market we met our compatriots serving suhsi
Not far from the outside market, we met our compatriots serving food from their own Food Track Og Basta paste. I was very happy to see ours in the next installment. I like your company because you always tell interesting stories. We talked for a while and it turned out from the statements of our entrepreneurs that our Polish community is very positive here in Bergen. I know that we have great Polish diaspora all over Norway. It was nice to hear it from our compatriots, Bergen residents with 8 years of migration experience.
Greetings to the Polish community in Bergen. Direction Norway
