For several months, many of us have had problems arranging an appointment to the consulate to obtain a passport. I get a lot of phone calls about this and I decided to bring it up on our Radio Wataha Facebook page.

Magdalena Stanclik called me. It turned out that he was unable to book an appointment at the Consulate to obtain passports for his children. In addition to Magdalena, a few more people called about this matter. Finally, I decided to investigate this matter myself, and it turned out that I had such a need, because my sons' passports are also running out. The case regarding booking a date to the consulate was confirmed. So I asked Magdalena to come to our studio and we will do some material about it. We have touched upon many questions and probabilities of why this is happening and how children experience the inability to go to their grandparents.

After the program, I tried to contact our consul. It worked. I covered all the topics in our video and received important information: When to look for opportunities order date and how many people are accepted per week and why it is not possible to increase the number of applicants accepted.
When are the records triggered?
- As a rule, on Mondays (every subsequent or every two weeks). The next several dozen dates will be made available on August 10.08.2020, 9. The system starts around XNUMX o'clock. So we already know when an appointment can be made.
How many people are likely to sign up for the meeting?
- Depends on the period of the year. In the holiday season, it is about 100-120 people / week. This is what the Consular Department is able to save per week. Taking into account other consular activities, the office in which only two consuls currently work, accepts up to 150-170 applicants.
Can I increase my bandwidth?
- The capacity of the institution depends on the number of consuls and the number of administrative staff. Decisions to increase the number of personnel (consuls, but also administrative employees in foreign missions) are made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It depends on him whether the number of people will increase, and thus the consulate's capacity.
Essential when booking
Very important information for everyone. Our citizens often do not cancel their visit in the system when they cannot appear at the consulate. Block appointments for other people. In the event of a person's resignation from the visit and cancellation of the visit in the registration system, the date of this visit is automatically unblocked by the system, which allows another person to sign up. Consuls ask our citizens to cancel the deadlines they have blocked, if they cannot use them, out of concern for the needs of others in need. "Withdrawal" of visits arranged in the e-consulate system between clients of the Consular Section is not accepted, and persons are received in accordance with the printout of booked visits from this system.
In addition - do not wait for the submission of the passport application "until the last moment of passport validity or the expiry of this date." The passport application can be submitted in advance, even several months in advance. During the "off-holiday" period, it was possible to register for a passport visit practically "overnight", and a number of dates were left free. Problems with booking a visit usually occur mainly during the holiday and holiday periods as well as during public holidays.
In addition, parents of minor children should remember that a temporary passport for a child is issued once, for a period of 1 year, and during this period the act of registering the certificate must be completed. birth of a child at the Polish Civil Registry Office, obtain a PESEL number and apply for a 5-year passport. Registration of a child at the Civil Registry Office can be done in person, through the immediate family, or through the Consular Department.

If we would like consulates to admit more people, we should ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for support for our consulate, and also be fair to others by canceling booked visits if we know that we will not use them. It is also important not to wait for the submission of the passport application until the holiday period.
If it happens that you have an appointment at the consulate and you cancel your visit for some reason. Be sure to cancel your visit in the system. This way you free up space for new people.
