Last Thursday we found out that Prime Minister Erna Solberg gathered 13 people at a restaurant in Geilo where she was celebrating her 60th birthday, and the next day she met 14 other people in the apartment she and her sister were renting out.
As we already know about this case, the police have launched an investigation.
In one of the interviews, Erna Solberg referred to this saying:
- I think it was quite reasonable that the police did this. If it means that I and my family will receive fines, I am prepared for it - says Erna Solberg after the press conference.
When asked if she understood why people reacted badly to what happened, she replied that:
- As I said yesterday: I'm angry with myself too. I should have better checked the rules- and she added,
- If we make mistakes, we will be treated the same as everyone else.
Today Prime Minister Erna Solberg in an e-mail sent to all members of the Conservative Party writes that he regrets having twice gathered too many people in connection with the celebration of her 60th birthday.
- I am very sorry for the situation our party has found itself in. I know many of you have been working a lot on the campaign lately. Conservative members and stewards put leaflets in mailboxes and carried out other activities in the fight against coronavirus. Then one experiences such a situation, it is like a stick in an anthill - the Prime Minister writes in an e-mail.
On Thursday, March 18, we learned that Prime Minister Erna Solberg gathered 13 people at a restaurant in Geilo where she was celebrating her 60th birthday, and the next day she met 14 other people and ate sushi in the apartment she rented with her sister.
Prime Minister Erna Solberg in an e-mail sent today to all members of the Conservative Party also writes:
- When there were a dozen or so people in our apartment, I should intervene not only as Erna, a private person, but above all as the prime minister of Norway. I didn't do it and I regret it very much.
- I would like to apologize to all members of the conservative party. I will use this as a motivation to work even harder for the party in the future, concludes the Prime Minister.
