The police can now confirm that the last victim was found in the landslide in Gjerdrum is Rasa Lasinskiene. She was found last Monday morning. Her relatives were notified.

The search work in the landslide area was led by Police Inspector Anders Mansaas. It tells about a very demanding job.

- Now we were in a phase where we planned to continue searching for the last missing person. We were systematic in this planning work, the forensic information formed the basis for identifying suitable search areas, Mansaas says.

1,1 million cubic meters of earth and clay masses have moved

The challenge with the missing person was that the person was not inside the building but outside when the landslide occurred. The landslide area is large and it is estimated that 1,1 million cubic meters of earth and clay masses have displaced.

Among other things, we worked on determining the location of facilities and buildings before and after the landslide

- Information from investigative work indicated that most likely the missing person was near the Fv road. 120 when the landslide occurred. Taking this as a starting point, we worked, among other things, to identify the location of objects and buildings before and after the landslide in order to be able to look at possible clay mass movements. While this identified some relevant searchable areas, we did not have enough information at the time of discovery to initiate an active search. We found the site was in one of the areas we found relevant, says Mansaas.

East Police Chief Ida Melbo Øystese says he's glad survivors don't have to live in uncertainty about what happened with their loved ones.

- We are thinking today about the survivors of Rasa Lasinskiene and about all those who were harmed by the landslide - says the police chief and adds,

- I would also like to thank the police and other agencies that have been working hard over the past few months to find all the missing. It was a very demanding and risk-free job. Therefore, I am delighted that we can now complete this part of the mission.
