Norway's Prime Minister vaccinated against COVID-19

Prime Minister Erna Solberg and four other members of the government received the first dose vaccines against COVID-19.

- I am glad that I got the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. I hope everyone who has been offered the vaccine will agree. Vaccination means that we can finally return to the everyday life that we all miss, says Prime Minister Erna Solberg.

The Prime Minister was vaccinated along with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Development, Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister of Defense.

– These ministers have it important tasks related to Norway's interests abroad. Now, as more people are vaccinated around the world, more and more meetings are taking place physically. These ministers are vaccinated so that they can participate in these meetings on equal terms with colleagues from other countries, Solberg says.

NATO recommended vaccinating all participants ahead of the June summit

The Norwegian prime minister is expected to be present at the NATO summit in June. NATO recommended that all participants should be vaccinated before the summit. Five members of the government received the first doses of the Moderna vaccine on Monday. Vaccination was carried out by a nurse from the armed forces in the prime minister's office.
