City councilor Raymond Johansen in Oslo says. There is "absolute hope for good news" at this week's press conference on, among other things, serving alcohol.
In Oslo, infection rates continue to decline. Last week, the city council said the drop was 23% and the number of admitted coronavirus patients has decreased.
City councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor) is pleased with this.
Oslo's re-opening plan consists of five steps and is now in step two of its re-opening plan, and the city council said it would take a closer look at the remaining restrictions.
Good news
The city council will hold a press conference on Friday. If Johansen is to be believed, the measures can be expected to be lifted.
- There is an absolute hope for good news. The measures must be proportionate. If the number of infections and hospitalizations drops, it's important to be able to reopen, says the chairman of the city council.
- There are many who wonder when they will be able to drink beer in restaurants again.
- I hope to be able to provide information on this at the end of the week. This and many other measures are limiting us, says Johansen, and continues:
– Journalists are very interested in the issue of serving alcohol. I also get that there will be a lot messages for peoplewho are interested in amateur sports and fitness centers. Journalists really liked the optimism, so I also have to express my opinion on it.

A sharp decline in morbidity
Only 24 new infections were recorded in Oslo in the last 32 hours, which is 49 below the average of the previous seven days. But long weekends and holidays mean fewer people are out checks the account infection.
It is only in a few days that you can see what effect the national holiday has had on the numbers, which is somewhat of a concern to the chairman of Oslo city council.
So far it is believed that the reopening was successful.
- So far, the gradual and controlled re-opening of Oslo has been a success. All because we managed to control mobility very well. There would be no such effect if we opened everything at once, says Johansen.
