Norwegian technology is now the driving force behind our development
Who can apply for the title of astronaut?
Citizens from all ESA member countries can apply for a job as an astronaut, and Norway is one of 22 member countries.
Candidates must have background in medicine, engineering, technology or science
To become a European astronaut, you must have a graduate or higher education from a university or in the military. Former European astronauts include scientists, doctors, engineers, physicists and test pilots. New astronauts are not limited to having experience in these professions, but applicants must have experience in medicine, engineering, technology or science. In a new video on the government's Instagram account, Iselin Nybø highlights the importance of good qualities if you want to become the first ESA astronaut in Norway.
